Kinesiology
My name is Alexa Rathgaber. I graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology, as well as a Certificate of Business through Edwards School of Business. I have a passion for exercise and movement, and strongly believe in training our bodies in order to live the life we want. I grew up an athlete, and my favorite hobbies include hiking, paddleboarding, cross-country skiing, walking my dog, spending time in the gym, and outside trying anything new that I can! I also strongly believe that exercise is not only good for your body but also for your mind. I recently finished a 7,100km walk across Canada in association with the CMHA, raising awareness for mental health. My goal is to help people get “Fit For Life” through functional movements that make traveling, playing with kids and grandkids, and everyday tasks easier, as well as give people peace of mind knowing they can walk on ice, up and down stairs, and carry heavy items without getting injured.
What Kinesiology Can Do For You
Kinesiology is the scientific study of human movement. Kinesiologists use knowledge of anatomy, biomechanics, exercise science, rehabilitation, and movement analysis to help people improve how their bodies function in everyday life, sport, work, and recovery.
Whether you are recovering from an injury, looking to improve athletic performance, managing chronic pain, returning to exercise, or simply wanting to stay active as you age, kinesiology focuses on helping your body move safely and efficiently.
